Rooting together:
a 5 day retreat for men
June 18th-22nd, 2026
-
Step out of the pace and expectations of everyday life,
Into circle, into a secluded forest, into presence.
Where new perspectives, direction and clarity can arise.
A space to ground in simplicity and honesty,
That allows you to remember
who you are, where you are coming from and where you are going
Where you can explore what helps you show up fully in life.
Where your voice is heard, and realness in whatever form is welcomed: joy, doubt, pressure, or silence has space to be.
A place where you are met by other men,
standing beside you in their own honesty,
Where connection can become real.
Held by the forest around us, that welcomes us back,
This becomes a shared journey.
A grounded and supportive space where you can land, find clarity, experience a sense of belonging, while being seen and supported.
A 5-day journey to step out of your head, into presence
through inner reflection, brotherhood, and nature,
with space to be with what we carry and listen to what calls within.
The Experience:
-
The group is small: 6-9 men to ensure depth and attention. Through circles, practices, and honest sharing, a container forms where every man is seen, heard, and supported. The group process itself can become a source of insight, trust, and belonging. Sharing experiences and connecting to other men and their stories can remind us who we are. We can understand and relate to the stories of other men as if they were ours - because in a way they are.
-
The forest is our witness. Breath, movement, reflection, and creative expression connect you to your body, senses, and the rhythms of life around you. Rituals and immersion in nature anchor our processes, spark clarity, and give space and grounding for our time together. An old memory can awaken of where we all come from. And that we are still part of the natural world.
The dates of the retreat are aligned with a shift in the natural world: the summer solstice on the 21st of June. Used by humans for centuries as an a moment of reflection and ritual. -
At the heart of the retreat sits a carefully guided psilocybin ceremony. Preparation and integration are core elements that help you to step in with clarity, and to translate experiences afterward. You can choose your own depth and dose for the ceremony, from a microdose to a deeper journey. The focus is not on intensity, but to drop deeper into yourself and the shared process of the group that supports every man’s exploration. Integration, reflection time, and 1:1 follow-up calls with facilitators help anchor the insights into daily life.
The heart of this retreat lies in three layers of honest connection: to yourself, to other men, and to the natural world. This retreat offers a grounded space to explore these relationships directly.

The vision
This experience invites you to connect to:YOUR INNER WORLD— what opens and reveals itself when you fully step into the experience.
THE GROUP— the men around you, and the energy and connection that arises together.
THE NATURAL WORLD — the natural rhythms and life that surround us, and our place within them. This retreat offers a grounded space to explore these relationships directly.
Through practices that deepen connection to yourself and the group, a carefully guided psilocybin ceremony, and rituals in nature. We tap into 3 layers of connection
The directions and elements as guides
The four cardinal directions have guided humans for centuries as reference points to orient themselves in the physical world and in the cycles of life. The natural elements are the essence of everything in many cultures. Each direction is associated with an element. We use the following framework:
East – Air: Breath, clarity, connection
South – Fire: energy expression, confrontation
West – Water: Opening, feeling, celebration
North – Earth: grounding, integration, commitmentThese concepts are integrated within the flow of the retreat, as anchors to support our journey together.
The structure supports us.
Like the men beside us and the forest around us.
To meet ourselves honestly.
To remember who we are.

Mattie holds space with grounded curiosity, soft leadership and deep connection to life.
-
Mattie is fascinated by life and its everchanging nature. Has dedicated his path to exploring how we can stay rooted and find purpose within changing times. Through inner journeys, group work and honoring the natural world.
Trained facilitator of men’s work, plant medicine ceremonies, and the regeneration of ecosystems, the three pillars of his life.
Guided by a deep memory that humans are part of nature, not separate. And we are here to play our part in something beyond ourselves. He is convinced that every one of us deserves to be fully seen, in the darkness and the light, and belongs to life.
Andreas brings calm clarity, deep presence and a reflective mirror for what is real.
-
Andreas has transformed his wounds into a life of depth, meaning, and abundance. Over many years as a psychotherapist and facilitator of numerous mindfulness groups, he has walked closely with people through both, the light and the shadows of life.
Reflecting the full spectrum of human experience clearly like a mirror in deep peace he remains committed to the true nature of reality. His wife and his three daughters helped him embrace the feminine in his life and prove himself to be a good father. Men’s work has shown him the power and simplicity of being himself amongst men in the realness of life.
Ludwig holds with sensitive presence, lived experience and grounded accountability.
-
Growing up in an intentional community with a focus on conscious relating and living with
the land sparked an early curiosity about life’s deeper layers. Ludwig became a father at the age of 20, an early initiation into caring for life. He also has been confronted with death of a loved one in an early phase. Both shape his relationship to life.Plant medicine has guided him on his path, helping him move through deep wounds and reconnect with a stronger sense of purpose. His longing to embody healthy masculinity made him join the “Sacred Sons” leadership path, confirming his calling into space holding for men and youngsters.
Together, we hold this space with care, compassion and openness
in service of life, and of what wants to emerge through each man who steps in.
We believe in the power of being seen in both the light and the shadow.
In the strength of men coming together in honesty.
And in the intelligence of nature, ritual, and shared experiences to create space for realness.
The Space that holds us
We immerse ourselves in a vibrant secluded forest that merges with the cliffs of the beautiful Algarvian Westcoast. On a land where nature is respected and supported. The forest becomes our witness. Among the trees and the rhythms of the land, away from the noise.
We stay in comfortable domes including showers and compost toilets nestled throughout the forest, offering a quiet place to rest and integrate.
We are nourished with wholesome food from the region.Grounding meals that connect us to the land around us and support the work we are doing together.Investment
